Wrestling out of La Porte High School, Mike Powell made the state finals. In a college career, he missed All American honors by one match in his freshman year. As a sophomore, he was ranked 5th nationally before his career came to an abrupt end.

Mike spent 7 years coaching kids and high school wrestlers before stepping in the cage to take care of unfinished business, "I didn't get a chance to finish my wrestling goals. MMA has filled that void."

Now training 6 days a week with Team ROC at United Sport and Athlete, Mike makes no bones about his ambitions: "My goal before my career is over is to fight in a world title fight at 135 lbs."
